Alright so here we are, sorry it's taken so long...
- Apple, Aperature, Super Powered Computers
Well, even though it is old news now (and that is my fault)
Apple had another two media events since my last post. Their first is their PhotoPlus event, which I'll touch on in a second, and their second is their Australia music media event. This event led way to Australia finally getting a Music Store in iTunes. Apple's PhotoPlus event at PhotoPlus Expo 2005 showed quite a few amazing things. Engadget has/had live coverage of it
here. What was revealed was
Aperature. A great program for all of you photographers out there (with Macs). It has all the stuff that you need to edit your pictures before you do any special effects in Photoshop. They also updated Powerbook line (brighter screens, better resoloution, better battery life etc.). And now here is the AWESOME part. Apple released what they call the PowerMac G5 Quad. A dual dual-core Mac. It's got two dual-core chips, each running at2.5 GHz. I've heard that the power behind this thing is just AMAZING and I can see why. It can also support up to 4 30" Cinema Displays! Check out the official site
here.
Ever wanted to create your own Mario game? Well now you can! Sort of. From the folks at
Fu-So-Yas Niche is the Super Mario game from the SNES. I haven't tried it out yet, due to time constaints but from the screenshots available on the site it looks really really cool.
Check it out and build your own mario levels today! Speaking of old Nintendo games, these guys decided they'd
sing about it (Definately a must listen) and the folks at Rubikcubism decided they'd
design some cool stuff for you. They built all of the objects shown there completely out of Rubiks cubes. Sweet.
- Check Out The World, Or Even The Moon...
This is a free downloadable program from NASA that lets you
utilise Sattelites to watch real time images of the earth and the moon. You can view climate maps, real sattelite imagery, and maps. Honestly, I love to play around with it. You can zoom in and out between elevations and rotate and turn and look over the place your looking at. You can download it from
here. I suggest you check it out. Even just for the neatness factor.
Well you know that you've got to much time on your hands when
you
create a site that puts anybody who visits it into a Jerry Springer show. Yes, the results are interesting and well, peculiar to say the least. Check it out for a possibly humourous experiance...possibly not. Pay attention to whose names you put in because that can lead to erm, intimate experiance with them in the "show". Just a suggestion, when asked for a weapon and a piece of furniture, put in Katana and Thousand-Pound Couch.
Okay, here is just a
round-up of tonnes of stuff I've found.
Don't honk at sleeping grandmas, they might
ruin your car.
Online films are fun.
I guarantee it.
Don't mess with squirrels.
They'll get yah.
Wake up to Captain Morgans.
Maybe.
Why do people not know the difference between their head and a jack in the box?
Computer Stupidities.
Dislike that spam you get?
Here are a few comical drawings (As depicted to the right).
This site
here tells quotes that people have actually said in the city of New York. It's got some great stuff. Just pulling one directly off the site here we have: "Punk guy: You know somethin'? I could have been home right now, watching Gremlins!" Check out the site to see what other stuff is there. Just to warn you alot of the stuff is pretty inappropriate...
From a link that my friend gave me is the
Carver. It's a car that s
o called "Can be steered like a car but manuvers like a motorcycle." It looks interesting although I'm beginning to wonder what the limit is on all of these different types of vehicles, especially ones that will never come to the consumer market like this one. Ah well, it's always nice to see new ideas.
I'm sure you've heard of intelligent design and how bush advocates it for schools right? If you haven't then Google it and you'll find it. Now
this guys blog post tells you the only way and humorous way at that to combat off this idealism. Read it, you must!
Lastly I want to give a big shout-out to a Mac Addict at
A MacAddict's Page who plugged me in
his latest post. I read his latest post everyday. It pays to comment!
